Dear members,

Upon the completion of my first full week as President of this
wonderful association, I reflect on the election of nearly 4 years
ago when you, the members of the UTEA, overwhelmingly elected me to the
position of Vice-President. Knowing that you had the confidence in my ability,
if the position of President were ever to be vacated, to effectively
step in and do the job was one was one of the proudest days of
my professional career. That time has now begun.

There are many issues that have come to our attention over the past
week, and let me assure you that myself, along with your Executive
Board,  have a renewed energy to tackle all issues with unbelievable
enthusiasm, and compassion.

This Thursday, February 11th, I chose my choice to the vacated
position of Vice- President. Ann Margaret Shannon who has accepted the
position, shares the same passion and zeal for this association that I
have, and will be a partner in moving our agenda forward to the next
level. Together, we will build an association of GREAT PRIDE in TEAM
BUILDING, PROFESSIONALISM and UNION!

On March 11th and12th, the UTEA will hold our Professional Development
Overnight Workshop. Many thanks to our AWESOME Secretary John Zurka
for putting together and facilitating this overnight full of exciting
and much needed workshops to further advance the practice of education
in our classrooms. The registration form is attached to this email. We
want a huge turnout!!

In closing, I believe an Association/Union is about the Membership,
ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Together in UNITY, WE CAN!
