President’s Message

Welcome back!! It is time to prepare ourselves for another fresh start at a new school year..

During this time we celebrate the great work we do and join together to face another year and another group of students whose futures we will help shape. Public school employees, whether they are teachers and other certified staff or educational support professionals, dedicate their lives and careers to helping the next generation grow into educated, productive members of society.

There are many days that I think we have the best jobs in the world – we get to see the positive impact we have on our students and we know that the work we do is important and meaningful.

That is why it is so important to have a strong association behind us. Your association is working hard for you so you can focus on taking care of the things that matter.

We are here to protect your RIGHTS …

… to negotiate your CONTRACT …

… to make sure you are treated FAIRLY and PROFESSIONALLY …

… to stay on top of issues that impact our profession…

… and to help you become the very BEST you can be at the work you DO.

And most importantly, remind people that you get up EVERY school day with the desire to make the lives of your students BETTER. After all, WE are the professionals, and we know better than any of our critics what our students need, and how to meet those needs.

Please feel free to reach out to me at any time either by emailing me at uteapres@gmail.com, or call me at (908) 851-4430. Now you can follow us on Twitter @UTEANJ

It’s a new year, and there is much to do. As colleagues … as friends … and as professionals, let’s do it TOGETHER.

Thanks, and have a GREAT year!
